At G-20, Obama calls the Paris massacre a ‘setback’; says he’s open to good ideas

Sadly, the US president, Barack Obama, still doesn’t get it.

During a press conference at the G20 Summit in Turkey on Monday he called the Paris massacre a “setback” in the war against the Islamic State.

“The terrible events in Paris were obviously a terrible and sickening setback,” he said. “Even as we grieve with our French friends, however, we can’t lose sight that there has been progress being made.”

Obama also resisted calls to send ground troops in to Syria ad Iraq to recapture territory lost to ISIS.

“A strategy has to be one that can be sustained,” he said. “My only interest is to end suffering and to keep the American people safe. And if there’s a good idea out there, then we’re going to do it.”
