By all accounts, the band members of theĀ American rock band Eagles of Death Metal managed to escape the carnage that erupted in Paris about an hour into their sold-out concert, but two others working with the band were not as fortunate.
Citing someone close to the band, The Los Angeles Times reportedĀ that one crew member was killed and another was wounded — the names of the two crew members have not been released.
The number of fatalities inside the Bataclan concert hall is still being determined, but the total is at least 87, according to Fox News.

Michael Dorio, identified as the brother of the bandās drummer Julian Dorio, told WSB-TV in Atlanta that his brother told him the Islamic terrorists opened fire while they were playing.
“He said they were playing, about six songs into the show, and they heard, before they saw anything, they heard automatic machine gunfire,” Dorio said. “It was so loud, it was louder than the band and they all hit the stage floor.ā
He said the band saw the gunmen as they escaped.
āAnd as they got up to try to evacuate they saw men with machine guns just shooting anything and everything in the venue,ā Dorio said.

The venue was at capacity and the band members were able to escape through a back door.
“Fifteen hundred people, Julian said, was about the capacity of the venue,” Dorio said. “I don’t know if it was seated or standing but Julian, the lead singer and some of the crew — there was a door back of the stage that led to a street and they flew out the back door.”
The Washington Post reported that Julian Dorio’s wife, Emily, confirmed that theĀ band members made it out alive.
“We are just holding our breath and saying prayers for everyone,” she said. “[Julian] called to say he loved me and he was safe. Everyone on stage was able to get off.”
A message was posted on theĀ Eagles of Death Metal’s Facebook page earlier in the evening:
We are still currently trying to determine the safety and whereabouts of all our band and crew. Our thoughts are with all of the people involved in this tragic situation.

According to the Daily Mail, a spokesperson said the band will eventually issue a statement.
“Band members are safe,” the spokesperson reportedly said. “We are not making any comments and no one is speaking to press. We will issue a statement in the near future.”
