The University of Missouri student government encapsulates the mentality of the entire college protest movement.
First the student body President Payton Head lied about the KKK being on campus, then he dared students to impeach him for his lie and now, the student body vice president declared she doesn’t like the First Amendment.
Brenda Smith-Lezama told MSNBC host Thomas Roberts on Tuesday that she is tired of that pesky freedom of speech when her liberal sensibilities are being assaulted, although she doesn’t seem to mind it being used by her fellow protesters to keep the campus under siege until they get what they want.
“One professor complained universities are becoming places of prohibition,” Roberts asked. “What’s your feeling? Do you believe that’s a place we are heading for American campuses now? ”
“I personally am tired of hearing that first amendment rights protect students when they are creating a hostile and unsafe learning environment for myself and for other students here,” Smith-Lezama replied. “I think that it’s important for us to create that distinction and create a space where we can all learn from one another and start to create a place of healing rather than a place where we are experiencing a lot of hate like we have in the past.”
