Bloomingdale’s apologizes for ‘creepy’ holiday ad; does this say ‘date rape’ to you?

High end retailer, Bloomingdale’s is in the hot seat for a politically incorrect catalog ad that critics say promotes a ‘rape culture.’

In an ad fitting for a spot in the 1950’s drama “Mad Men” – if the show were actually airing in the 1950’s – Bloomingdale’s suggests spiking your friends drink is all part of holiday cheer.

Mix in a man’s creepy stare toward his unsuspecting female “best friend,” and Bloomingdale’s found itself in the middle of a brewing controversy.

After all, it’s not the 1950’s, and spiking someone’s eggnog no longer conjures up thoughts of a little extra Bacardi at the company Christmas party.

It’s 2015, where culture has regressed to a much less innocent era, and spiking someone’s eggnog is analogous to slipping in a roofie and dragging an unconscious woman to a dark alley.

Add in the radical feminist movement that bemoans a rampant ‘rape culture,’ despite no credible evidence to prove it, and Bloomingdale’s realized the ad had to go – and fast.

But the social justice warriors are just getting started:

Does the Bloomingdale ad say “date rape” to you? Tell us what you think.
