‘A very dangerous trend’: Carson’s warns about accepting ‘infantile behavior’ from race activists

Republican presidential contender Ben Carson weighed in Wednesday on the trumped up protests over charges of racial discrimination on college campuses, saying schools like the University of Missouri and Yale University are “accepting infantile behavior.”

Appearing on “The Kelly File,” the retired neurosurgeon said the totalitarian behavior of race activists prevents real dialogue.

“It’s part of the problem that’s going on in our country right now,” Carson said. “We have people who get in their respective corners and demonize each other. But there’s no conversation.”

“This is just raw emotion, and people being manipulated,” he added. “I think, in many of these cases, by outside forces who wish to create disturbances.”

Kelly commented on the hypersensitivity of today’s youth, who take offense to the slightest provocation and respond by actively trying to shut down free speech.

“This is a very dangerous trend,” Carson said. “When we get to a point where a majority can say, ‘I don’t like what you’re doing. That’s offensive, and therefore I have a right to be violent toward you or deprive you of rights, because I don’t like what you’re doing,’ that really goes against the grain of our constitutional rights.”

“If we don’t see that, we’re in really big trouble right now.”

“What are we doing to tomorrow’s generation?” Kelly asked, after pointing out that Mizzou students are being told to call the police if they hear anything that offends them.

“Well, we’re being a little too tolerate, I guess … accepting infantile behavior,” Carson replied, adding that such behavior is “un-American.”
