After hosting NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” the night before, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump called into the NBC studios for a Sunday interview on “Meet the Press” with host Chuck Todd.
Trump rattled off a lot of concerns about Ben Carson, before Todd asked if the retired neurosurgeon’s rising poll numbers posed a threat.
“I think everyone’s a threat to me,” he told Todd. “I look at all of these people. I like a lot of them, I respect a lot of them — I think everybody’s a threat.”
But then he dismissed them all.
“Nobody’s going to do the job I do,” he said. “Nobody’s going to make America great again.”
Eventually, Todd brought up his “SNL” appearance.
“Does hosting “Saturday Night Live” undermine how serious you are running for president?” he asked.
The real estate developer rightly said that a lot of politicians do “SNL,” and mentioned Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton’s appearance a few weeks ago.
Of the crowds gathered outside 30 Rockefeller Center to protest his appearance on “SNL,” Trump claimed there were more protesters in favor of him outside the building than against him.
Todd asked if Trump was comfortable with the show using comedian Larry David to mock the Latino groups’ protest outside the studio.
“Not only comfortable, it was something I had to agree to, and I loved it,” Trump said.
