Obama admin rolls out scream-inducing P.C. term to replace ‘juvenile delinquent’

Political correctness has once again reared its ugly head in the Obama administration — this time taking aim at America’s criminally-inclined youth.

We can no longer refer to them as juvenile delinquents; they’re now called “justice-involved youth.”

Just as the administration once stripped all meaning from the phrase “war on terror” by calling it an “overseas contingency operation,” it now believes it can solve the problem of America’s wayward youth by making it sound as though they’re enrolled in a law enforcement apprenticeship program.

“The Department of Justice is committed to giving justice-involved youth the tools they need to become productive members of society,” Attorney General Loretta Lynch said in a statement earlier this week.  “Providing meaningful support through housing opportunities, prevention programs and other critical services is vital to our ongoing efforts to reduce recidivism, promote public safety and foster positive results in communities across the country.”

In yet another example of throwing money at a problem and then walking away, the Justice Department and the Department of Housing and Urban Development launched a $1.7 million initiative that purports to tackle the problems of “justice-involved youth.”

“Life is about second chances and offering young people an opportunity to turn away from their mistakes and get back on the right path,” HUD Secretary Julián Castro said. “These grants will allow Public Housing Authorities to help these young people to reach their potential and begin to contribute to their own communities.”

In a similar move, President Obama announced this week that the federal government and its contractors may no longer consider criminal history to weed out job applicants.

“We can’t dismiss people out of hand simply because of a mistake that they made in the past,” Obama told a gathering in Newark, New Jersey on Monday.

Democratic presidential front-runner, Hillary Clinton, went Obama one better by announcing this week that if she were elected president, no employer would be allowed to consider an applicant’s criminal history.

It may take the next administration years to find its way out of the rabbit hole that the current administration has led America into. In the meantime, here is a politically-correct euphemism for the current president: Logic disadvantaged.
