Its seems as though Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has officially gone off the deep end according to many who’ve read his recent article about top-tier Republican presidential contender Ben Carson.
Former NBA star, Abdul-Jabbar blasted Carson for having “muddled and pious policies” that go “against our Constitution.”
Abdul-Jabbar wrote in a Time op-ed Wednesday:
However, [Carson] chose to run for president of the U.S., and that’s bad for African-Americans. His repressive, muddled and pious policies and opinions often run against our Constitution—but his questionable proposals will likely, thankfully, be doomed by his lack of political expertise. His presidency would be marked by even worse gridlock while he wastes his time trying to impose his narrow and sometimes ill-informed morality on the other 319 million people in the nation.
But that’s not the worst of it.

That’s right, Abdul-Jabbar accuses Carson of perpetuating black stereotypes – in a bad way.
And it would definitely not be good for African Americans to have a president who flounders helplessly in office because it would perpetuate the stereotype that blacks can’t be effective CEOs, quarterbacks and leaders.
That little “revelation” had folks on Twitter wonder what Abdul-Jabbar could be thinking. Carson sets a bad example that blacks can’t be effective leaders? To be clear, Carson is a world-renowned neurosurgeon who led teams of doctors under enormous pressure during endless hours of intensely stressful operations. That apparently, is all ho-hum to Abdul-Jabbar, but thankfully, was not lost on others:
@JessicaChasmar He’s a PEDIATRIC NEUROSURGEON. Instead of being proud of AAs like Dr. Carson, Dr. Rice, etal, Al Sharpton garners respect. — Lisa (@Flyingright1) November 4, 2015
@Collinsdw @JammieWF @JessicaChasmar all my black friends are neurosurgeons!

@JessicaChasmar Right, head Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon, 15k plus surgeries on children is bad for black Americans. Gimme a break. — Tami Bell (@Brytani_Fla) November 4, 2015
@JessicaChasmar Carson is “someone who’s too confused or frightened by all that complicated science”? Did Kareem get a climatology degree?

@JessicaChasmar What? All blacks have to be like Al Sharpton to be legitimate? What a nut and lunacy is what will bring the left down, hard. — SEDS (@SDESSEDS) November 4, 2015
Carson has done the worst sin imaginable to the political left – defied its perpetual narrative that the black community must remain beholden to big government dependency. And now, political pawns like Abdul-Jabbar will do whatever they can to twist fact to fit within their narrow spectrum of reality.
@JessicaChasmar Is Kareem referring to the stereotype of the poor black kid who grows up to be a world-renowned neurosurgeon? He’s a moron

I hate those awful blacks are brilliant neurosurgeon stereotypes myself. https://t.co/Pe2gzKgcRz — JWF (@JammieWF) November 4, 2015
Being ridiculously smart and successful seems like a pretty awesome stereotype, tbh https://t.co/PX691sCIaV
