The latest Friday night document dump of Hillary Clinton emails reveal that while serving as secretary of state, her address list included such names as actor Ben Affleck and pop star Lady Gaga.
But not included in her network of luminaries was a person she described as her good friend — the late Ambassador Chris Stevens. His repeated requests for security upgrades had to go through Under Secretary of State Patrick Kennedy.
The 7,000 emails released Friday indicated that those who did have her ear included the very people she’s now tapping to help her in her bid to win the presidency — powerful CEOs and political advisers, big-name entertainers and political cronies.
Fox News reported:
The release, the largest since the State Department began posting the records in May, show Clinton and her aides balanced requests from a long list of boldface names.
Lady Gaga complimented her, [former British Prime Minister Tony] Blair praised her for doing the “Lord’s Work,” Myanmar’s pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi asked for technology help and former President Jimmy Carter pitched in on negotiations with North Korea.
Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga., questioned Clinton at the House Benghazi hearing on whether Stevens, who was murdered in the September 11, 2012 attack on Benghazi, had direct access to Clinton via email.
“You got a lot emails from Sidney Blumenthal, and you say that Mr. Blumenthal was a friend of yours, and he had your personal email address. You say Chris Stevens was a friend of yours,” Westmoreland said at the October 22 hearing.
“He asked numerous of times for extra protection, and if I had been Mr. Stevens, and I think anybody watching this would agree, if I had been Mr. Stevens and I had had a relationship with you and I had requested 20 or more times for additional security to protect not only my life but the people that were there with me, I would have gotten in touch with you some way. I would have let you know that I was in danger and that the situation had deteriorated to a point I needed you to do something. He didn’t have your personal email?”
Clinton replied that her “friend” Stevens didn’t have her personal email address. But Blumenthal and Affleck did?
Apparently she felt that Stevens would be of no help to her rise to the White House.
