A pistol-packing pastor in Detroit is the latest to take Police Chief James Craig’s advice to heart, shooting and killing a man who stormed into his church wielding a brick.

At the storefront City of God Church on Sunday, a 25-year-old man threatened members of the congregation and tried to attack the pastor during a worship service, WDIV-TV reported. The 36-year-old pastor pulled his Glock handgun and fired four or five shots.

Chief Craig told citizens in 2013 that arming themselves would prevent crime, and in this case, the pastor was simply following his guidance.
The assailant was taken to Botsford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Assistant Chief Steve Dolunt told the Detroit News that the pastor “had issues with the man before.”
“He had been threatening him to do bodily harm,” Dolunt said. “We’re not sure at this point whether the man had mental problems or what. It’s still under investigation.”

Police will report their findings to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office for a decision on whether to charge the pastor.
Keon Allison is the pastor of City of God Church, according to Allison’s Youtube channel.
