The PC police are coming is an actual thing in the state of Virginia but the citizens are not caving in.
Kevin Collier of the Stonewall Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans received a letter in September informing him he had until Oct. 4 to remove the license plate from his car that included a drawing on the Confederate battle flag as it is now a crime in Virginia to have the symbol displayed on it, WAVY reported.
The deadline has come and gone and, like more than 1,000 others, Collier has no plans to change the plate, citing his right to free speech.
“Next thing you know, they’re going to say you can’t wear blue on Monday…or you can’t wear yellow on Thursday. Where’s it going to end?” he told WAVY.
Of the 1,600 people who have the confederate plates only 167 have complied so far, according to the state DMV.
Collier said he cannot take to the battlefield as his great-great-great grandfather did for the confederacy but that doesn’t mean he won’t fight.
“I can’t fight on the battlefield like they did, but I can fight,” he said. “I can in modern times and I’m not giving them plates up.”
