Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump suggested things weren’t as safe under former President George W. Bush as Americans believe.
During a Friday interview with Bloomberg Television, host Stephanie Ruhle asked Trump how he would make Americans feel safe like Bush did after 9/11 and Obama after the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.
“OK, I think I have a bigger heart than all of them,’ he said. ‘I think I’m much more competent than all of them.”
“When you talk about George Bush – I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time.”
“Hold on! You can’t blame George Bush for that,” Ruhle said.
“He was president, OK?’ Blame him or don’t blame him, but he was president. The World Trade Center came down during his reign.”
Watch the exchange.
The interview sparked controversy and passionate debate all over social media. Many people were quick to defend Bush, but one reader left a comment in Trump’s defense that we thought was worth noting.
Not a bad move. The point that has been made by Trump is you will not mess around with him enemies and foes take note!!!
Remember the art of the deal? he is setting himself up and putting all on notice that he is to come form a position of strength. You never get your way negotiating from a position of weakness or equivalence!
Same as when he talks about Mexico and China. America really holds the leverage and economic cards not the other way around! America tells them what to do not the other way around.
Only the feeble and the totally ignorant LIberals feel that the world will all come together in some sort of Kumbaya moment if America simply acquiesced its power. This is America’s death warrant that Obama has signed!Trump may not be polished or a true Conservative to some but he talks the language we understand and he truly loves this country. He does not want to change it. He wants to bring it back to what it was.
He comes from a family with money. Money made in America with hard work and entrepreneurial skills. Not like the Clintons who make their millions sucking off the teat of Unions and “charity” organisations.
Is he egotistical? yes he is, is he arrogant? yes he is, does he love America YES HE DOES!
Trump is the real deal. You just have to accept him as he is.
Tell us what you think.
