Germany, Europe’s largest economy, is bearing the brunt of Europe’s refugee burden.
The number of asylum seekers expected to pour into Germany this year to escape conflicts and poverty in their countries has soared from an estimated 750,000 to 1.5 million, the Guardian reported.
Considering family structures in the Middle East, this would mean each individual from that region who is granted asylum will bring an average of four to eight family members over to Germany in due course.
This high number of asylum seekers runs the risk of becoming an extreme burden for the country.
More than half of Germans are now scared of refugees invited to their country, according to a new a local German poll.
