McDonald’s customers could not have been “lovin it” when a woman was found dead at her table after sitting there for 24-hours.
The incident took place at a 24-hour McDonald’s in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong Saturday when employees called police after discovering the homeless woman, around 60, cold and lifeless in her chair around 8:30 a.m. local time, according to the South China Morning Post.
Police said there was nothing suspicious about the death of the yet unidentified woman who regularly spent her nights at the restaurant.
A representative for McDonald’s Hong Kong said the woman did not order food but was moving and had requested water at some point during the evening.
“To complement the modern lifestyle of people in Hong Kong, some McDonald’s restaurants operate 24 hours a day. We welcome everyone to visit out restaurants any time,” the spokesman told the Morning Post.
As to why no one attempted to wake the woman for 24-hours the representative said “In order to provide a pleasant dining environment, we would not disturb our customers, but our service will be offered promptly upon request.”
The woman’s body was removed through the back of the restaurant around 11:30 a.m. and the establishment was disinfected and re-opened to customers by 1 p.m.
