Second Amendment advocate, author, and Fox commentator Dana Loesch came out swinging against President Obama’s immediate politicizing of the horrific Oregon mass shooting on Thursday.
“It was incredibly disappointing to see the president, at a time when he should be holding the country together, make such statements when there’s no basis for this,” Loesch said on the “The Kelly File.”
President Obama wasted no time pushing for stricter gun control after news broke that a gunman had opened fire at Umpqua Community College, killing at least 10 and injuring numerous others.
Obama addressed the American people by arguing that states with the strictest gun control laws have the fewest deaths.
Loesch used Obama’s home base, Chicago, to refute his statement, and continued to systematically dismantle the president’s argument for unarming the American people.
“It’s mystifying to me that he can be making these proclamations when we know hardly anything,” Loesch reasoned “We know about the fatalities, we know about the injured, but we know nothing about this individual.”
The killer was later identified as 26-year-old Chris Harper Mercer. He allegedly targeted Christians in his pursuit of death and destruction – unarmed Christians.
Umpqua College is a gun-free zone, something Loesch sees as a significant factor in the shootings.
“Gun-free zones are criminal protection areas,” Loesch stated. “You cannot refute numbers. You cannot refute the statistics.”
