Armed Air Force vet on campus wanted to confront UCC shooter; told to stand down by staff

An Air Force veteran with a concealed carry permit was armed and on campus at the time of Thursday’s mass shooting at an Oregon community college that took 10 lives and wounded seven. But he wasn’t allowed to come to the aid of the victims.

Veteran and Umpqua Community College student, John Parker, described to Fox News host Sean Hannity Thursday what took place during the shooting.

Parker was with other vets at the campus veterans Center when the shooting started.  He, as well as the other vets, ran toward the sound of the danger.

“I carry, and I was willing to help,” he said on “Hannity.”

“Immediately the staff — the school staff stopped us and told us to get inside the building.”
