‘Duck Dynasty’s’ Sadie Robertson making debut in movie based on horror that shocked our country

Masey McLain stars as Rachel Scott in the Christian-themed movie “I’m Not Ashamed.”

Sadie Robertson, the “Duck Dynasty” dancer who charmed her way into America’s heart on last season’s “Dancing with the Stars,” is making her big screen debut in an upcoming movie about the Columbine school massacre and the faith of one Christian girl who became a legend.

For the movie “I’m Not Ashamed,” Robertson was originally offered the lead role of Rachel Scott, who was shot to death during the April, 1999, massacre after killers Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris taunted her for her beliefs.

Saying she was unable to take on the lead role, Robertson is playing Scott’s cousin instead, the teenager who helped Rachel become a Christian.

Sadie isn’t the only Robertson in the cast, though. Her 12-year-old sister, Bella, and her mother, Korie, also have smaller roles.

The $26 million Big Film Factory movie was financed by private donors, and a majority of its profits will be donated to global Christian mission work, producer Chuck Howard told the Washington Times in July.

Robertson told the Times the movies was important for young people to see to test the depth of their own faith.

“Rachel gave her life for her faith,” she said. “But, oh man, it’s something that’s tough to talk about. However, it’s something that all teens need to realize and recognize because they need to know if they’re going to go all in or not.”

According to CNS News, Robertson’s “I’m Not Ashamed” debut will be followed by a role in “God’s Not Dead 2: He’s Surely Alive,” a sequel to last year’s commercially successful “God’s Not Dead.”
