Be careful when you criticize a gun supporter — it may backfire on you.
Over the weekend, a gun-grabbing Twitter user twisted a recent promotional video, made by talk radio and BlazeTV host Dana Loesch for the National Rifle Association, to push for stricter gun control.
In the original 60-second spot, titled “Moms Like Me,” Loesch says she she is a gun-owner precisely because she’s a mom and wants to protect herself and her children.
In the altered version of the video, Loesch is pointing a handgun at her head. No firearm is displayed in the original version.
The revised version ends with the sound of gunfire and the splatter of blood across the screen. From that, the viewer is supposed to assume that Loesch committed suicide.
Accompanying the video, the Twitter user, who identified himself as Tom Adelsbach wrote, “Dana Loesch’s new promotional video for the #NRA ‘backfires’ on her.”

Anyone familiar with Loesch knows she wouldn’t let that stand.
She reposted the video on her own Twitter feed. WARNING: EXTREMELY GRAPHIC. VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED.
Great. Now anti-gun #MomsDemand fans are making videos threatening to kill me: pic.twitter.com/lWTZVSZcRK #gunsense #2A

Then, she rolled up her sleeves and got to work.
Thanks for proving my point of why I carry and fight for that right. People make legitimate threats on my life routinely. #gunsense — Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) September 27, 2015
In the next tweets she said she was contacting the FBI, and that for every hate tweet she received, she would send a donation to the NRA in their name,
I’ve contacted the FBI. I will keep you updated. I am going to pursue this to the fullest extent.

And every hate Tweet I receive? I’m going to donate to the NRA in that person’s name AND buy myself another box of ammo. — Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) September 27, 2015
Making good on my word! Here is the tribute to my #NRA donation. More to come! Bring it! pic.twitter.com/Luvd4Q1fWd

As for Adelsbach’s statement that Loesch’s NRA promotion “backfired” on her, it was his sick tweet that actually backfired on him. Apparently, Twitter deleted not only his post but also his entire Twitter account.
