While “ham-handed” makes for a great caricature of Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a four-letter word more accurately described her recent attack on Republican presidential contender Marco Rubio.
The Democratic National Committee chairwoman drew considerable criticism this week — nothing new here — for a “vile” attempt to make political hay over a fundraiser the Florida senator planned to attend, as described by the Washington Examiner’s Michael Barone.
The apt four-letter word took on added emphasis when Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume re-tweeted Barone’s column, which was picked up by Twitchy.com:
The event was at the home of conservative philanthropist Harlan Crow, who has a large and impressive collection of historic artifacts. Wasserman Schultz’s point of contention was that Crow’s collection includes Nazi art objects.
‘Not very humble!’ Social media RIPS Michelle
Obama’s dress to meet pope; it cost HOW MUCH?
The reaction on social media shows that “vile” was a popular theme when responding to the Democratic lawmaker’s actions.
Here’s a sampling of the fire Hume’s re-tweet sparked on Twitter:
