Donald Trump stood his ground and defended his answers about Muslims and President Obama, reminding Americans that the 9/11 terrorists “didn’t fly back to Sweden.”

CBS News aired a preview on Monday of Trump’s upcoming “60 Minutes” interview with Scott Pelley.

Sitting comfortably in his luxury Manhattan apartment, the GOP frontrunner took questions from Pelley, who immediately brought up the incident in New Hampshire where Trump didn’t correct a questioner’s assertion that Obama is a Muslim.

“You let that pass, and I wonder what it tells us about you,” Pelley said.

Trump immediately replied, “I don’t have to defend President Obama.  He’s not going to defend me.”

Pelley touched on the unpredictable nature of a presidential campaign, suggesting “it was a testing moment,” while accusing the man who asked the question of being a bigot.  Not much is known about the questioner himself, despite efforts to identify him.

“I don’t think so,” Trump shot back.  “That wasn’t a testing moment.”

“You don’t know he was a bigot,” Trump challenged,

“A problem with Muslims?” pressed an incredulous Pelley.

“I love the Muslims,” Trump began. “We could say there are no problems with the Muslims…there’s no terrorism…there’s no anything.”

“They didn’t knock down the Word Trade Center,” he added.

In classic tell-it-like-it-is fashion, the billionaire turned politician made his point.  “To the best of my knowledge, the people that knocked down the World Trade Center…they didn’t fly back to Sweden.”
