Palm Beach County holds off on new Uber rules – Palm Beach County plans to push its Uber dispute down the road, possibly all the way to Tallahassee. The County Commission Tuesday decided to wait and see if the Florida Legislature next year passes new statewide rules for Uber’s car service, instead of creating local rules for the popular alternative to taxis. Jeb Bush opposes RPOF’s plan to force presidential candidates to show up for November cattle call – Jeb Bush opposes a move by the Florida GOP to bar any candidate from the March primary ballot if he or she does not attend a November “Sunshine Summit” cattle call. “Governor Bush is opposed to the proposed rules change. John Boehner continues to face opposition from Republicans in Florida delegation – U.S. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, looks closer to keeping the gavel but he will still face opposition from members of the Florida delegation. Bohener received a boost in recent days as key Republicans, including U.S. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., the chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, said they were supporting keeping him in charge. Read more

Las Vegas Sands calls it quits in Florida – The Las Vegas Sands Corp. is giving up its efforts to get a destination casino resort in Florida, its Tallahassee lobbyist confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
