Megyn Kelly rebukes panelist for questioning Obama’s faith: ‘He’s NOT a Muslim . . . we DO know’

kelly-fileNot everyone thinks Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump should have corrected a man who said President Barack Obama was a Muslim.

“We have a problem in this country. It’s called Muslims. We know our current president is one. You know he’s not even an American,” began the first questioner at a Trump town hall meeting in New Hampshire.

“We have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question: When can we get rid of them?”

Trump proceeded to answer the man’s question without commenting on his assertion that Obama is a Muslim.

Fox News host Megyn Kelly played a clip  of the question and answer to a focus group of registered Republicans appearing on her show, “The Kelly File.” She also showed a clip of Sen. John McCain, who was put in a similar position when he was campaigning for the presidency in 2008.

Although most of the the panelists thought Trump should have corrected the questioner, not all agreed, and for various reasons.

After playing the clips, Kelly noted, in Trump’s defense, that he was caught off guard by the question, which was the first one posed to him.

One panelist said there was a fundamental difference between the time the question was dropped in McCain’s lap and today, hinting that the president may very well be Muslim.

“There have been a lot of changes and a lot of things that have been exposed about Obama,” she said. “His past history, [the] Rev. Wright and all these other things. When McCain …” she got out before Kelly interrupted her.

“He’s not a Muslim,” she shot back.

“Well, we don’t …” the panelist answered.

“We do know,” Kelly interrupted again.

Still another panelist noted that 25 percent of Democrats think Obama is non-Christian.

He added that it wasn’t Trump’s responsibility to correct the questioner.

“The question may be ugly, but I don’t think it’s necessarily the responsibility of any particular candidate to own what Americans say,” he emphasized.
