‘Lmfao Im on TV’: Mom turns Ferguson looter in to cops after he posts photo of himself

A woman who turned in her own son for last year’s rioting in Ferguson, Missouri, wanted police to know that she didn’t raise him to be a criminal, but it’s clear that she didn’t raise him to be a scholar either.

The none-too-bright 19-year-old saw an image of himself on a local news broadcast asking the public to help identify looting suspects from the November riots and was so amused at being on TV that he grabbed a screenshot of his criminal act and posted it on social media, alerting friends of his moment in the spotlight, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

“LMFAO, I’m on TV,” Brandon Ward wrote on his Facebook page.

Well, he may have been laughing his f***ing *ss off then, but he’s probably not laughing now.

The Post-Dispatch reported:

That post, along with a tip from his mother, led St. Louis County police to arrest him. He was charged this month with burglary and stealing Nov. 25 at the Dellwood Market.

Ward’s mother called police after seeing her son featured in news reports as well as his social media post, police said, saying she wanted them to know she didn’t raise him to be a criminal.

Ward was reportedly being held in lieu of $10,000 bail … there was no word on whether his mother planned to pony up the money to get him out of jail.

Tips from the public in response to the release of photos and surveillance tape from the Ferguson riots have resulted in 20 people being arrested, bringing the overall number of people detained in connection to the looting to better than 60, according to police.

It remains to be seen how aggressively local prosecutors move to convict.
