As Kim Davis prepared to return to work as a Rowan County clerk on Monday, she found a not-so-welcome back note in her Kentucky hometown.
A global nonprofit group, ironically named “Planting Peace,” erected a billboard addressing Davis and mocking her stance on marriage, according to WKYT.
“Dear Kim Davis, the fact that you can’t sell your daughter for three goats and a cow means we’ve already redefined marriage,” the billboard says.
In a statement released on its website Friday, the group said the intention of the billboard “is to expose this narrow interpretation by Davis and others that they use to defend their discrimination against the LGBTQ community.”
The group said the day Davis decided she wouldn’t grant same-sex marriage licenses was the day that “she became the poster child for the anti-gay movement.”
Way to plant peace.
