Ben Carson has a strategy for dealing with refugees — and it’s not the one Obama wants

Dr Ben CarsonNeurosurgeon-turned-GOP-presidential-contender Ben Carson thinks America needs to be very careful when it comes to the Syrian refugee crisis to avoid allowing jihadists to sneak into the country.

More careful than the president of the United States seems to think is important, anyway.

“We cannot put our people at risk because we’re trying to be politically correct,” he told Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday.

“Bringing in people from the Middle East right now carries extra danger. And we have to be extra cautious,” Carson said. “You know, we need to tighten it up and be very careful.”

The comments echoed remarks Carson made Saturday in an interview with NPR.

“We have to recognize that this is a splendid opportunity for global jihadists to infiltrate those numbers with members of their own organization,” he said. “So we would have to have in place a very excellent screening mechanism. Until we had such a mechanism in place, we should not bring anybody in.”

Each year tens of thousands of illegal aliens sneak across the Southern border who America has no idea about nor has any way to track their movements.

Now President Obama wants to add the their rolls by, so far, calling on the U.S. to accept at least 10,000 Syrian refugees while Democrat presidential contender Martin O’Malley believes the number should be 65,000.

That’s even after Italian intelligence officials discovered I February that the Islamic State devised a plan to seize the opportunity to embed caliphate soldiers among the refugees and sneak them into nations that opened their doors.

Clearly, Carson is paying attention to the one thing a president is supposed to put above all else: the security of the American people.

But Obama’s priorities are clearly elsewhere.
