Actor who plays ‘Scandal’ President Fitz wants Hillary, but gushes over THIS ‘awesome’ GOP candidate

A Hollywood actor proved that just because you play a president on TV doesn’t mean you can recognize what makes a good one in real life.

Take Tony Goldwyn, for example. He’s pushing Hillary Clinton.

Goldwyn plays the fictional President Fitzgerald Grant on ABC’s hit political-thriller series “Scandal,” and is a self-described political junkie.

“I’m totally addicted,” he said earlier this week, according to the New York Post.

When asked about Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, he said, “I think he’s outrageous. He’s extremely entertaining. I understand why he’s caught a wave because he’s very authentic. I don’t happen to agree with his politics, but he’s out there, man, you got to hand it to the guy. I won’t be voting for him, but I think he’s kind of awesome.”

Goldwyn has his eyes set on presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who’s leading the Democratic field nationally but polling in second place behind Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont in Iowa and New Hampshire. Iowa will officially open the 2016 run for the White House with its caucuses on Feb. 1, and New Hampshire will hold the campaign’s first primary election on Feb. 9.

“I think by a mile she’s the most competent, the most experienced, and I think she’ll be a great president,” Goldwyn said of Clinton, according to the Post. “I think it’s time we have a woman president.”

In 2008, a majority of presidential votes were cast for then-Sen. Barack Obama because people thought it was time the United States had a black president. How’d that go?
