Photos: ‘Double’ rainbows appear on NYC skyline day before 9/11 anniversary

An uplifting sight emerged a day before the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 attack that destroyed the World Trade Center. A rainbow, which seemed to emerge from the side of the new WTC building in New York City, swept the sky for all to see.

“Scattered pop showers this morning around New York City allowed for breaks of sun to filter through the raindrops. The result led to rainbows being observed around the city,” weather.com meterologist Quincy Vagell said.
