Harry Styles, front man for the band One Direction, proved he’s a terrific singer, a nice guy and a stickler for proper grammar during a recent concert in Philadelphia.
Styles spotted a fan, Taelor Ford, 16, displaying a poster that read, “Hi Harry, your so nice.”
Styles noted the grammatical error and took matters into his own hands.
“He asked for a pen and for security to bring the sign to him, Ford told the BBC’s Newsbeat.
“He fixed the spelling, he changed the ‘your’ to ‘you’re,’ and then he signed it, ‘thank you, love Harry.'”
Some other grammar fans may have wondered why Styles didn’t put commas after “hi” and “love,” but the young fan said his own mistake was a fortunate one.
“I actually wasn’t embarrassed at all, I was kind of happy that I misspelled it,” Ford told Newsbeat.
“I’m not really good at English at all, but I’m just so happy one of them noticed the sign,” he explained.
After the concert, Ford expressed his thanks to Styles in this tweet:
Thank you so much @Harry_Styles for signing my poster and also correcting my grammar!! ?❤️ pic.twitter.com/8v9xM6umbn
