When a Texas State University student got her driver’s license suspended for refusing to take a Breathalyzer test, it didn’t mean she couldn’t get around campus.
She just traded in one set of wheels for another: a hot pink, battery-powered Barbie Jeep, according to MySA.com.
When industrial engineering junior Tara Monroe refused the Breathalyzer at a Waka Frocka concert, her father drove to the San Marcos campus to pick up her car, leaving her with only a bicycle to get around.
“Riding a bike around campus sucks,” she told MySA. “Like really sucks.”
So, Monroe checked out CraigsList and found the toy Jeep. It was being sold by a little girl named Charlene for $60.
“When we drove up to buy it, Charlene asked where the little one was to test-drive it, to which I replied, ‘I am the little one,’” Monroe said, according to MySA.
Monroe then gave the toy Jeep a name: Charlene.
Since she began tooling around campus in her new wheels, Monroe has become something of a social media sensation. Here are a few examples:
