It’s like Donald Trump has these videos sitting on his thumb drive, ready to fire at a moment’s notice.
Jeb Bush should know by now that when you hit Trump with a dose of his own medicine, you will get the entire medicine cabinet thrown back at you.
In a tit-for-tat, Bush hit back against Trump’s “Willie Horton”-style video, releasing his own YouTube video of “liberal things that Trump believes.”
But when you’re Donald Trump, and can pay who-knows-how-many workers to sift through every public statement your opponents have ever uttered on video, it’s easy to find material on long-time public figures. Trump’s counterpunch is a hilarious video capturing Bush praising Hillary Clinton.
Bush’s one-minute, 21-second clip simply lacks the punch that Trump puts into a 15 second piece, quoting former President George W. Bush saying that Hillary is his sister-in-law.
Head to head against Trump, the bloated Bush campaign smells like old money and Washington political consultants. Trump, by contrast, feels like a Jimmy Kimmel bit or Comedy Network’s “Drunk History”—it’s trendy and hip.
Not bad for a 69-year-old billionaire, and very sad for the former governor of Florida whose brother and father have both called the White House home.
