Less than 24 hours after a Texas sheriff’s deputy was assassinated, Black Lives Matter protesters in Minnesota took to the streets to call for more deaths of police officers.
The protesters were marching near the Minnesota State Fair on Saturday, carrying a Black Lives Matter banner and chanting: “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon.”
On the very same day, a black man, Shannon J. Miles, was charged with capital murder after he allegedly ambushed Deputy Darren Goforth from behind, then stood over the white law enforcement officer in cold blood and fired several more shots to ensure he was dead.
A video of the protesters chanting the death wish was posted on social media:

It is precisely this type of rhetoric that Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman denounced after his deputy was executed while putting gas in his car.
“When rhetoric ramps up to the point where calculated, cold-blooded assassination of police officers happens, this rhetoric has gotten out of control,” Hickman said at a news conference. “We heard ‘black lives matter.’ All lives matter.”

The sheriff said investigators will look into whether Miles’ heinous act was motivated by the anger represented in the Black Lives Matter protest movement, the ABC affiliate KTRK reported.
“I think that’s something that we have to keep an eye on,” Hickman said. “The general climate of that kind of rhetoric can be influential on people to do things like this. We’re still searching to find out if that’s actually a motive.”
Meanwhile, the reaction on social media to the despicable actions of the Black Lives Matter protesters shows the movement continues to do more harm than good. Such a chant is “inciting murder,” as one social media user put it.

@emlarson @MrNikoG Just wrong. It’s hard to have compassion and understanding when people act like this.

@davecscott They don’t deserve compassion or understanding. @emlarson @MrNikoG

@DavidJohnGarth @emlarson @MrNikoG Ironic they have a police escort as they chant about killing cops.

@emlarson @MrNikoG What a bunch of hypocrites. If they really feared police brutality they wouldn’t be provoking cops.

@emlarson @MrNikoG No loss to humanity if a hole opened up and swallowed them all.
