Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect responsible for the execution style killing of a police officer late Friday and laying the blame for the murder squarely at the feet of race agitators.
Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman, District Attorney Devon Anderson and other law enforcement officials gathered for a press conference Saturday afternoon to give information about the murder of Deputy Darren Goforth as they spoke passionately about the need to support law enforcement.
“It is time for the silent majority in this country to support law enforcement,” Anderson said. There are a few bad apples in every profession. That does not mean there should be open warfare declared on law enforcement.
“What happened last night was an assault on the very fabric of society,” she added.
Sheriff Hickman echoed her comments and blamed the “dangerous, national rhetoric” in America today.
“Any point where the rhetoric ramps up to the point where calculated, cold-blooded assassinations of police officers happen this rhetoric has gotten out of control,” he said. “We’ve heard black lives matter, all lives matter – well cop’s lives matter too so why don’t we just drop the qualifier and just say ‘lives matter’ and take that to the bank?”
