Judge sets redistricting conference for Tuesday but questions loom – Circuit Court Judge Terry Lewis on Monday ordered a scheduling conference for Tuesday after 3 p.m. to receive updates on the status of the congressional redistricting plan that lawmakers failed to complete last week. But the question of the day is: what options does he have? Lawmakers assumed they were handing over the job of redrawing the districts to the court when they adjourned their two-week special session Friday without finalizing a congressional map. Read more

Columba Bush puts drug addiction fight among top priorities – The wife of Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush says the highly personal fight she waged against drug addiction as Florida’s first lady would remain one of her top priorities in the White House. Columba Bush, whose daughter has struggled with addiction, penned an op-ed published this past weekend in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, calling attention to the nationwide epidemic of addiction to heroin and prescription painkillers. Florida Healthy Kids Corporation considers suing federal government for health exchange access – The Florida Healthy Kids Corporation is considering suing the federal government. This comes just days after 34,000 kids in Florida and their families learned their premiums through Healthy Kids would soon double. … “It would be Florida Healthy Kids that would be filing a lawsuit,” said Wendy Link, Chair of the board for Florida Healthy Kids.
