The father of one of the heroes who subdued a terrorist and thwarted a probable massacre on a French train Saturday, offered America some poignant advice on political correctness.
“It’s better to die like a lion than be slaughtered like sheep,” Emanuel Skarlatos, father of National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos, told MSNBC’s Tamron Hall on Monday. “And this terrorist coward deserved what he got, and the PC crowd needs to recognize terrorism for what it is.”
Skarlatos was a guest on “News Nation” to discuss his son and his friends’ heroic acts. “I’m honored to have a son like Alek and his friends are fantastic guys… I love them all,” he said. He called their actions “a selfless act of bravery.”
Alek, and two other Americans, received France’s highest honor for their heroism. But the would-be terrorist attack is hardly an isolated incident, and the next attack might not end so well for innocent civilians.
Skarlatos’ PC warning should act as a wake-up call for the nation, and the world.
