Donald Trump is fighting mad about the loss of U.S. jobs, and he’s giving up Oreos to prove it.
The Republican presidential front-runner covered a wide range of topics during Friday evening’s political rally before tens of thousands of supporters in Mobile, Alabama.
One of the topics was America’s favorite cookies: Oreos. The real estate tycoon swore off them and explained why.
While talking about tariffs that other countries charge U.S. companies, Trump noted that the makers of Oreos recently announced plans to move production from Chicago to Mexico, resulting in a loss of 600 U.S. jobs, according to the Chicago Tribune.

“Mexico is the new China,” Trump said. “I love Oreos. I will never eat them again. Nabisco closes the plant in Chicago and they are moving the plant to Mexico. Why?”
Trump answered his own question by citing Ford Motor Company’s efforts to build a plant in Mexico because it’s cheaper to make cars there.
Still, based on the crowd’s tepid reaction, Trump may have some more work to do to persuade Americans to give up their Oreos.
