Real estate mogul Donald Trump is not only a Republican contender for president, he’s also a social media phenomenon.
Leaving his Republican contenders in the dust, Trump has managed to amass a Twitter following that eclipses even President Obama’s, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
By around 60,000 followers as of Tuesday morning.
Despite being heavily favored throughout his presidency by millennials, pop culture, and social media, Obama isn’t popular enough to compete with Trump’s mega-presence on Twitter.
As great as it is to see a braggadocious billionaire trounce Obama on social media, Trump’s following looks even more impressive when compared to his fellow Republicans.
And it must be especially tough being Lindsey Graham in the Twitterverse, with just over 24 thousand followers.
But it’s not just on Twitter that Trump’s popularity pays off. Even on Facebook he manages to make his well-known Republican rivals look almost invisible.
While Trump had roughly 6.8 million unique visitors on Facebook since Aug. 10, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush – previously thought to be the most formidable candidate in the GOP – only managed 964,000, according to the New York Post.
Even the tech-savvy Democrat hopeful Hillary Clinton couldn’t catch up with only 4.1 million unique Facebook visitors.
Love him or hate him, it’s hard to ignore that fact that Trump knows how to demand attention.
