Donald Trump might have settled his beef with Fox News host Megyn Kelly for the moment, but his tussles with other prominent women in the conservative movement are far from over.
In an interview Tuesday with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, the real-estate-mogul-turned-presidential-contender backed away from his previous commitment to defunding abortion giant Planned Parenthood, arguing that there are “good aspects” to the group that can’t be ignored.
And that was enough for Lila Rose, president of the Live Action group behind the undercover video series that has exposed Planned Parenthood’s busy side business selling off the parts of aborted babies.
In a series of Twitter postings, Rose went after Trump — big time!
.@RealDonaldTrump flip-flops on @PPact, suggests he is open to keeping taxpayer funding. #PPSellsBabyParts http://t.co/l8kJPSKOQm

.@RealDonaldTrump can’t be trusted. Even in light of #PPSellsBabyParts scandal, he still supports funding @PPact. Unbelievable.

Trump also noted that he supported allowing abortions in the cases of rape, incest or when the life of the mother is at stake — exceptions liberals love to tout but in reality make up only a tiny fraction of the abortions performed in the United States, according to the Alan Guttmacher Institute.
Rose wasn’t letting that go by, either.
.@RealDonaldTrump says he is “absolutely for the exceptions.” Mr. Trump: Killing a child for the crimes of the father is never right.

Trump supporters fired back almost immediately.
@gary4205 He didn’t flip flop. He said he would look at salvaging the good things that they do that doesn’t fit your hate Trump narrative.

@LilaGraceRose obviously you didn’t hear what he said. Throwing a tantrum over outdated policies, will not help Republicans.

@LilaGraceRose @SpringSteps @PPact He’s trying to walk the line between legitimate women’s healthcare they provide,& abortion mill,dangerous

And it’s fights like this that are going to matter much more than Trump’s well-publicized spats with celebrity names like Megyn Kelly. As inexplicable as Trump’s rise as a presidential contender is to the mainstream media, his fights with the real conservative base are likely to be even more so.
For the mainstream media, used to covering — and pretending to cover — sham operations like Al Sharpton and the Black Lives Matter brigade, “beliefs” are largely a matter of make believe.
But for conservatives, it’s a different story. The support Rose’s tweets drew should be a warning for Team Trump.
@LilaGraceRose Really? @realDonaldTrump can’t even be bothered to protect innocent babies from @PPact? No vote from me. — Pam Brewer (@brewer_pam) August 11, 2015
@LilaGraceRose @realDonaldTrump @PPact just lost my vote
— Donna Goebel (@GoebelDonna) August 11, 2015
@LilaGraceRose@realDonaldTrump@PPact OK, he loses any chance of my support #DefundPP#DefundPlannedParenthood
— Lisa (@Nanas_Ranch) August 11, 2015
This is one that’s going to keep coming up — and the mainstreamers aren’t going to understand it either. Â
@LilaGraceRose @PPact @realDonaldTrump is a liberal in conservative clothing.
