Trump campaign co-chairwoman has a blunt message for Megyn Kelly: Hey, ‘sweetheart …’

kelly-trumpTaking the bull by the horns, a top campaign organizer for Republican presidential contender Donald Trump had a message for Fox News host Megyn Kelly on Saturday:

“If you mess with the bull you’re going to get the horns, sweetheart.”

Judging by the amount of interest it’s generated, the biggest question coming out of the first Republican presidential primary debate may not be who will eventually win the nominee, but who will emerge victorious in the Donald Trump/Megyn Kelly feud.

A feud that surprisingly is seeing a lot of women lining up with The Donald, despite a comment the real estate tycoon made late Friday about the Fox News anchor having “blood coming out of her wherever” — a shot many saw as a crude reference to Kelly’s menstrual cycle, although Trump later said he meant her “nose.”

And while Kelly supporters say Trump was being sexist, Tana Goertz, who serves as Trump’s campaign co-chair in the battleground state of Iowa, came to the candidate’s defense, saying his attacks on Kelly are “fair game.”

“I was not offended at all,” Goertz told BuzzFeed News, when asked about Trump’s mention of blood. “I’m not easily offended.”

goertzGoertz first became acquainted with Trump when she appeared on season three of “The Apprentice.”

Since Thursday’s debate, when Kelly confronted Trump over his past statements to and about women, critics point to a sexy photo shoot Kelly took part in during a 2010 GQ magazine interview, and a somewhat raunchy interview with smut-king Howard Stern to say she brought the fire on herself.

“You know, with Mr Trump, he believes that he responds to men and women with equal intensity, so you know Megyn was attacking him at the debate and he just fired back,” Goertz said. “It’s fair game.”

Goertz even went so far as to suggest that this is what women’s liberation is all about.

“There’s no war on women. He responds to them equally,” she said. “And he looks at it like, if you wanna give it to him, he’ll give it right back.”

At the same time, someone should remind Trump of a quote attributed to Mark Twain: “Never pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel.”

Meaning Kelly goes before millions of viewers in prime time one hour a night, five days a week. Week in and week out.
