Pregnant woman 'sickened' by racial comments when her praise for helpful cop goes viral

A pregnant woman from Washington state is singing a policeman’s praises after he took the time on Friday to fix her license plates instead of issuing her a ticket.

Amby Johnson is nine-months pregnant, and says she doesn’t want to make a big deal about the fact that she is black, and that the friendly officer, Jimmy Allen, happens to be white.

In a meaningful viral Facebook post, Johnson wrote, “Today you don’t hear about the officers who actually do good, but I wanted to be one of the people to give credit when it’s due.”

“Just see the story for what it is. A good officer helping out a woman. No race.”

Johnson had told officers on the scene that she didn’t want to bother her husband with the task of affixing the plates due to his long days working in the U.S. Navy. She added that her current condition prevented her from getting the job done.

Johnson so appreciated the impromptu help, she took a picture of Allen, who is an officer at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor, and posted it to Facebook.

“I’m 38 weeks pregnant and it’s super hard for me to bend over,” Johnson wrote.

“I got pulled over today and instead of giving me a ticket for not having my new plates on, this Officer gladly helped put them on.”

Fortunately, Johnson had the new plates on her back seat when she was pulled over.

Johnson told Kiro TV that she feels Allen should get “Officer of the Year” for helping her out. She also said she is sickened by some of the comments that were made in response to her post.

“It went viral so fast and I was so shocked.

“He deserves it. I just wish people who comment and share the story would stop seeing race or the fact that I said he was sweating his balls off.

“It bothers me so bad that majority of the shares have the heading WHITE OFFICER helps BLACK WOMAN.

“I’m half white and half black. It’s so sickening to read the comments from people sharing and they make comments like ‘and then he shot her.'”
