Huckabee must have hit a nerve; Obama takes a swipe at him from Ethiopia

President Obama took a pot shot at GOP presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee Monday at a brief news conference, calling his remarks about the controversial Iran nuke deal “ridiculous.”

The former Arkansas governor, a frequent visitor to Israel, claimed the deal would be especially bad for that country, and could even lead to another Holocaust

“This president’s foreign policy is the most feckless in American history,” Huckabee said in an interview published Saturday with Breitbart News.

“It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven.”

Obama commented on the rhetoric at the news conference in Ethiopia.

“The particular comments of Mr. Huckabee are, I think, part of just a general pattern that we’ve seen that would be considered ridiculous if it weren’t so sad,” Obama said.

Because Donald Trump, one of Huckabee’s competitors for the Republican presidential nomination, has been sucking up all the media oxygen in recent weeks, the president suggested the former Fox News host was attempting to push Trump “out of the headlines.”

That’s because it never occurs to him that some people might say what they actually believe — and that Huckabee and a good many of the president’s own party believe this deal is a disaster not only for Israel, but the United States too.

“Feckless” is the word.

Exactly.
