Iran’s top ayatollah ‘mocking, embarrassing’ the US with dark Obama tweet

Having beaten the Obama administration at the negotiating table over a nuclear deal, Iran is now aiming to beat the United States in world public opinion.

That was the point behind a cryptic message on social media from Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei last week that showed a silhouette of President Obama pointing a gun at his own head, former Congressman and retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Allen West told “Fox & Friends” Sunday.

“This is all about the psychological warfare of mocking the United States of America, mocking President Obama, and then of course embarrassing our country,” West said.

Khamenei posted an image Friday, along with the message seen here:

West told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that the nuclear deal the White House made with Iran should have never happened, and that the agreement will result in making the Persian Gulf country an “economic power” and a “military power.”

The former congressman from Florida delivered a fiery speech last week in Times Square to protest the deal, ripping Obama for “surrendering” to Iran and calling the president a “weakling” and “charlatan.”

“I want President Obama to know one thing,” he said at the rally. “You may say that you have done something that no one else has done. You know why no one else has done it? Because it’s a damn stupid thing you just did.”

West told Carlson that Iran thinks it has the high ground in its dealing with the U.S., and is negotiating with “some one [who] is showing abject weakness.”

Social media users had a different take on who’s embarrassing the U.S. Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
