Emotionally-charged White House images taken during 9/11 attacks

Americans now can see what was happening inside the White House on Sept. 11, 2001.

Images taken during al-Qaida’s 9/11 attacks were released for the first time Friday by the National Archives and uploaded to its Flickr page.

They were released in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

Each image captures Bush administration officials’ reactions to the horror of that day’s events: shock, disbelief and conviction.
