Coca-Cola heads growing list of donors cutting money to Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood is becoming toxic.

Since the release of undercover videos showing senior Planned Parenthood executives haggling over the sale of aborted baby parts, some of the abortion giant’s largest corporate sponsors are treating it like toxic waste and dropping their support.

American Express and the American Cancer Society both announced Friday that they were withdrawing their support. That came fast on the heels of similar announcements by Coca-Cola, Ford Motor Company and Xerox, according to LifeNews.

The withdrawal of corporate sponsorship was partly prompted by a Daily Signal piece listing all 38 corporations that donate to the organization. Make that 33 now.

LifeNews reported:

The companies were cited by Planned Parenthood as employers who match charitable contributions. Planned Parenthood is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that is exempt from paying federal income taxes.

A representative from Coca-Cola confirmed for The Daily Signal the company does not contribute to Planned Parenthood, nor does it match employee contributions to the organization.

When told that its named appeared on Planned Parenthood’s website, the Coca-Cola representative said, “We’ll ask them to correct the information.”

Other companies voiced similar concerns about Planned Parenthood’s donor list.

“We are making sure that Ford Motor Company is not listed as a Planned Parenthood contributor on their website,” a representative from Ford told The Daily Signal.

“In addition, we do not offer an employee match for charitable contributions,” the Ford representative said, adding, “It has been at least 10 years since Ford stopped matching employee gift contributions.”

It turns out the sale of baby parts means big profits for Planned Parenthood. LifeNews reported:

Planned Parenthood, according to its own reported data, commits 327,653 abortions each year, which it brags is “40 percent of the market in the whole country.”  According to Planned Parenthood’s director of medical research, abortionist Deborah Nucatola, the going rate for babies’ body parts is “anywhere from $30 to $100.”  According to the president of Planned Parenthood’s Medical Directors’ Council, abortionist Mary Gatter, “maybe 60 percent to 70 percent, but a large percentage of patients we approached would say yes” to having their aborted babies’ body parts harvested.

Conservatively, Planned Parenthood could be taking between $5,897,754 and $22,935,710 annually from selling aborted babies’ body parts. That’s a lot of “Lamborghini” diablos.

Even accounting for the fact that organs can’t be harvested from all abortions, when looked at in the context of getting paid for the babies’ bodies instead of having to pay to dispose of the bodies, the impact on the abortion giant’s “bottom line” could be gigantic.

This runs contrary to Planned Parenthood’s assertion that it receives no profit from the sale of aborted fetal parts.

Since the release of the undercover videos, Republican lawmakers have been considering legislation to defund the abortion giant.
