And nowhere did Donald Trump rake in more cash in the past year than — where else? — his gilded Miami-area golf resort. The 800-acre Trump National Doral, home to four golf courses, including the famous Blue Monster, brought The Donald a handsome $49,444,432 in 2014, according to a 92-page financial disclosure form he filed with the Federal Election Commission, which made the document public Wednesday. Florida redistricting battle gets series of deadlines – The Legislature and a coalition that successfully challenged the state’s congressional districts have agreed to a schedule for a Leon County judge to determine whether lawmakers’ second attempt to draw a map complies with the state Constitution. The agreement, submitted to the Leon County circuit court late Tuesday, calls for a hearing on the new map to begin Sept. 22 and wrap up no later than Sept. 25. Read more

New push to increase state minimum wage to $15 – The first bill filed for the 2016 Florida Legislature session is a bill that would increase the state minimum wage to $15. But don’t expect the bill to ever become law. State Sen. Dwight Bullard, D-Miami, officially filed SB 6 on Wednesday, six months before the Legislature’s regular session starts in January. Read more

Pot petition headed to supervisors in Florida— One hundred thousand petitions supporting the legalization of medical marijuana were sent to county elections supervisors in Florida. The move is considered one of the first steps in getting the proposal before voters next year. It’s the second shot for United for Care, the committee behind the petition drive, to get the proposal on the ballot. Read more
