Ashton Kutcher is ‘beside himself’; picks public fight against NY City Mayor de Blasio

collagebilldeblasioashtonkutcher0722Popular actor and start-up investor Ashton Kutcher might call himself a “social liberal,” but he understands what Obama Era Democrats seem to have forgotten:

The value of a dollar.

In a Facebook posting this week, the “Two-and-a-Half Men” star lambasted New York City’s Democrat deluxe Mayor Bill de Blasio for the mayor’s war on the ride-sharing business Uber.

De Blasio hates Uber and has made no secret about it, penning an op-ed in the liberal New York Daily News Sunday complaining about the company and backing a plan in the Big Apple’s city council to limit the growth of private car fleets that’s aimed squarely at the fast-growing Uber.

Kutcher, a venture capitalist with investments in Uber, Airbnb among other start-ups, called out the mayor’s logic – and by extension the logic of all innovative-killing Dems who hate nothing more than a new idea that’s not under the thumb of government regulation.

Kutcher called it what it is: the corrupt, short-sighted policies protection-racket liberals love to use to attack their enemies and protect their patrons.

I am beside my self with the regulation that Mayor DeBlasio is trying to force upon Uber and the citizens of NYC. He clearly has his pockets lined by the cab co’s. He talks about discrimination in NYDailyNews OP ed but has no idea how hard it is for ethnic people to get a cab. He talks about protecting drivers but has no idea about the people who drive for Uber to subsidize their income. He talks about congestion but doesn’t even recognize that Uber is a fraction of a fraction of the traffic in the city. He talks about data but fails to recognize that he has none. He’s trying to regulate a problem with out providing a single solution other than putting a target on a companies back so he can keep getting political funding from another. This is the kind of corrupt shortsighted politics that is destroying innovation.

With the name recognition of a TV star and the business philosophy of an entrepreneur, it’s easy to see why “Shark Tank” recruited him for its next season of capitalism TV.
