Trump bets MSNBC host a year’s salary; calls network after on air accusation he’s lying about income

odonnell-scvarborough GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump called in to MSNBC to bet a year’s salary after one host called Trump a liar.

When Trump released his financials to the Federal Election Commission Wednesday, MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell claimed the real estate billionaire inflated his figures.

“The Donald” said, ya wanna bet?

O’Donnell made his claim during his Thursday appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“Do you believe NBC lied about how much Donald Trump was paid? — Because that’s your choice. One of them is lying…[and] you’re falling for it because you don’t understand how much money people make on TV,” O’Donnell said.

O’Donnell followed up with several tweets

Here’s the exchange between O’Donnell and “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough.

What O’Donnell didn’t realize was that Trump — or a member of his staff — was watching the program. Trump decided to make a wager and called in to “Morning Joe.”

“Donald Trump called in,” Scarborough announced. “He said he wants to bet a certain host on MSNBC [O’Donnell] that came on and called him a liar — and said that if his salary is not certified to be correct, he will bet a year of his salary versus a year of said host’s salary.”
