An 11-year-old found out that there’s nothing like the anonymity of the Internet to bring out the cruel jerk in some people, but also that fighting back is powerful as he scored mountains of backing — including social media support from conservative actor James Woods and his legions of followers.
Heck, even the White House noticed.
Logan Fairbanks and his father Josh, 30, of Hartford, Mich., often post YouTube videos of their hijinks together, but when Logan started seeing a lot of hateful comments directed at him he decided to take action by making a much more serious video.
He said he made the video “to encourage other people who have been bullied to not let words hurt them.”
Logan read the hurtful remarks calling him fat, stupid, ugly and some going even lower with comments like “I hope he gets cancer” and “I hope he dies,” for the better part of the 2 minute video.
The wise beyond his years 11-year-old ended the video with no words of anger or hatred like those directed at him, but simply told his tormenters that he hoped they didn’t bully anyone online anymore and told bullying victims to not let words affect them.
Here’s how Woods took up his cause.

And here’s how Woods’ followers responded.
@RealJamesWoods Everyone has had a bully, how you deal makes you a man. Great job Logan, stand tall and proud.

@RealJamesWoods @PolitiBunny Taunts say EVERYTHING about the attacker and nothing about the one being attacked. I’m on Team Logan!

@RealJamesWoods @TAGOS22 @USATODAY brave, classy kid. Bully taunts are most always reflections of the bully’s own self-loathing.

@RealJamesWoods Being a role model and helping a young person stand up for themselves is hard to fine howdays. Bravo.

At 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., someone brought Logan’s work to the attention of Valerie Jarrett, the Obama senior adviser who knows a thing or two about bullying herself, since she and her boss try to do it so much.
.@DadVsLogan If you’re ever in DC, pls stop by the @WhiteHouse and say hi. Logan may be a future occupant one day 🙂 https://t.co/38wvYDB84C

Naturally, the Fairbanks are taking her up on it.
@vj44@WhiteHouse Thanks to some amazing people it looks like we are going to be able to make the trip. Would love to visit you. DM us.

Any “future occupant” of the White House with guts like Logan will be a welcome change, indeed.
