As if Americans don’t have reason enough not to elect Hillary Clinton as the next president of the United States, one possible consequence of such a decision could be Eric Holder sitting on the Supreme Court.
Even though he claims he has no interest.
The former attorney general played down the likelihood that he would accept such an appointment, should Clinton be elected president.
“I’d say, ‘Madame President, with all due respect, you need to pick somebody who’s a) younger and b) who’s a lot more interested,'” Holder said in a recent interview in The National Law Journal.
It’s a good bet the question would never come up with a President Cruz, Rubio, Bush or any of the other GOP contenders in the running.
Holder rejoined the Covington & Burling law firm as a partner after stepping down from the Obama administration — he was with the firm prior to joining President Obama’s cabinet.
Holder insisted this was his “last stop.”

“I greatly enjoyed my career in public service, and I’ll stay involved in political life in some form or fashion, but in terms of my own career, I think this is my last stop,” he said. “I’m here at Covington until I decide I’m not going to be a lawyer anymore.”
Holder was not above taking a shot at Republican lawmakers who held him in contempt of Congress for failing to respond to a subpoena requesting documents on the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal — it was the first time in U.S. history that Congress imposed the sanction on a sitting member of a president’s cabinet.
“There are certain members of certain committees that I probably will not be having great relationships with,” Holder said about the chance of working with Congress now that he’s back in private practice.
“I was looking forward to working with Louie Gohmert and Darrell Issa, those are the guys I was looking forward to working with,” he joked.
Issa is the former Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and Gohmert is the Republican congressman from Texas.
