The globe-trotting first lady has been a lot of places on the taxpayers’ dime – and she’s not going to be finished anytime soon.
Just back from a European jaunt that included tiffins with Prince Harry at Kensington Palace and an Italian leg to take in the Grand Canal of Venice, Michelle Obama took the stage in Washington Monday to tell her audience she’s got even more foreign travel in mind — and never mind the cost!
It’s all in pursuit of her goal to improve education for girls around the world, she told a crowd during a luncheon sponsored by More magazine at the Newseum in Washington. (Twitters users have a different take. “One big party!” one wrote.)
The United State, she said, needs to do more to help girls in Africa and the Middle East get the schooling they need.
“We would never accept a life of dependence and abuse for our girls,” she said, according to USA Today.
“We would never allow their bodies to be violated or for their potential to be squandered. We have to ask ourselves, ‘Why would we accept this fate for any girl on this planet?'”
Actually, Mrs. Obama doesn’t need to ask anybody but the guy living back at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. with her, whose spent the past six years buddying up to exactly the kind of men who rule societies where that is women’s fate – hint: they’re Muslim – and turning his back on a real ally like Israel (not Muslim) where the equality of women is guaranteed.
And while she’s asking her husband about that, she can ask him about those Nigerian girls everyone in Washington was in an uproar about (she might remind of her very own pouty-faced picture demanding their return.)

Sharp-eyed readers will note the time stamp on that tweet. Those girls disappeared into Muslim captivity in April of 2014. Astonishingly, a social media campaign of outraged tweets did nothing to rescue them from the sexual and religious slavery they’ve been kidnapped into — not when there’s an ineffectual, craven leader running the Oval Office. (But, hey, didn’t those rainbow lights look nice?)

Those girls, plus the girls of Iran, Iraq, Syria and North Africa — that’s the Muslim crescent — are being victimized more today than they were when Mrs. Obama’s husband took office, thanks to an American foreign policy adrift in inexplicable cluelessness about dealing with enemies and even more inexplicable cluenessness alienating friends.
No matter to Mrs. Obama, she’s got more travel planned — after China, Japan, Cambodia, Spain,
Fortunately, liberals, Democrats and globe-trotting first ladies aren’t the only ones who know how to use social media.
And conservatives who caught wind of the first lady’s plans to continue her exorbitantly expensive travel at taxpayers expense weren’t shy about making their feelings known.
