Career politician and presidential contender, Hillary Clinton is desperate to portray herself as an “average Jill” in order to win favor with the majority of Americans – only her bank account is anything but ordinary, and the looks on her supporters faces when they find out is absolutely priceless.
Campus Reform correspondent Cabot Phillips took to the streets of Washington D.C. to educate millennials about Clinton’s wealth and the mansions she’s lived in.
“What?!” was one of the most common verbal revelations heard.
“No way!” and “Really?!” were close behind.
Phillips found young contestants to play a game that matched presidential contenders with four grandiose estates he had pictured, and asked them to guess which contender owned what.
Not surprisingly, no one in the video placed Clinton with an estate.
After participants were done matching their “candidates to cribs,” Phillips revealed that all four mansions were tied to Clinton.
According to the Washington Post, the Clintons currently own a brick Georgian in D.C. and a Dutch farmhouse in Chappaqua, N.Y.
The other two are rental properties.
The Clinton’s extravagant summer rentals in the Hamptons prompted a New York Times expose over the real estate conundrum.
The Times warned that the presidential wannabe will need to tone down her summer getaways (that went from about $200,000 per month) to something a little more “mainstream” for the sake of good optics.
“All right, well now… you’re changing my opinion on the election a little bit,” said one young woman.
Phillips asked if the game made Hillary seem less “relatable.”
“Oh, uh, yeah,” a young man said.
“I can see where she’s spending her money, instead of on what matters and makes a difference,” said another.
While at least one young man said he predicts Democrats will be throwing their support toward Clinton’s opponent, Bernie Sanders, another just couldn’t believe what he had just learned.
“I’m very surprised, I didn’t know Hillary Clinton had that much money at all,” he said. “At all.”
